Leo's Spaghetti Smash!

Leo’s mom contacted me about booking a one-year-old session for him riiiight before his 1st birthday. Most of my parents choose to go the traditional route for the first birthday and book a cake smash . Leo’s mom and I talked back-and-forth and she asked if it was possible to do a spaghetti smash instead. The answer of course was absolutely yes! Since food is not included in the price of a smash session, I just advised Mom that they would have to bring in whatever he planned to eat during the session. As we talked a little bit more and I explained that each of the smash sessions comes with traditional photos. Mom told me that Leo almost never smiles when they’ve taken pictures in the past. I explained that bringing a one year old into our Bossier City studio is sometimes a scary experience for them since it’s a new place and I definitely don’t guarantee smiles but at some point during our session I almost always get smiles from them between the milk bath and the food smash and traditional photos. Well, guess who surprised us all?!

Leo thought I was HILARIOUS!!! He even giggled a couple times.

Next we changed his outfit and got him ready for the spaghetti smash portion of his session! It was at this time that I found out the reason they chose this theme is because Dad is Italian, so Little Leo is Italian too! I was not expecting these massive meatballs but Leo LOVED them.

At one point during our session, Leo was staring at the camera and at the same time he put his foot into the spaghetti. Then after doing so, he decided he definitely didn’t like that and started screaming. But come on, the screaming pictures of him are equally as adorable!!

When Leo started acting like he was full, we I got him cleaned up a little bit and plopped him into the splash portion of the session. Mom chose a milk bath and brought some of his favorite rubber duckies from home. It was hilarious to watch Leo try and drink water one handful at a time. He would dip his hand into the water and then take his flat hand and try to lick it before all the water fell off. You best believe that my Bossier city studio was full of laughs that day.
