Norah Cake Smash- Pink Ombre

Nora's mom contacted me for a photography session celebrating her daughters first birthday in Bossier City. She wanted to do a cake smash and was pretty open about what type of decoration she wanted. Originally her mom had told me pink ombre and gold since it was the color of her room, but when she got into the studio we thought we'd switch it up a little bit and use the giant pink and white flowers from my studio wall.

Mom got Norah all dressed up in one of the pink outfits I have in my one year-old collection. While she was dressing Norah,

I set up the decorations for Norah cake smash. Once everything was ready to go we did traditional photos with the rocking chair and used the ONE letters with a second outfit I have in the studio. I helped set up the cake while Norah's mom did her last outfit change into a pink ruffle diaper cover and we let her go to town on her cake.

Norah was patient and took her time but it was fun to have her in there enjoying her cake. She wasn't too happy when she got it all over her feet but she didn't let that slow her down.

When we were planning out her cake smash session, mom had the brilliant idea to do a strawberry-milk milk-bath during the splash portion of her session.

We added milk, nest quick strawberry flavoring and a whole bunch of fresh strawberries. It gave her milk a rich pink color and it made the room smell delicious! Norah loved all the strawberries and even spent some time splashing for us.
