So You're Thinking About Booking A Smash Session

Even if this isn't your first time taking Smash Photos, there's a lot you need to know to make the choices that will be best for your little one! Here are some of the most commonly asked questions!

*What happens during a Smash Session?

You'll come into our Bossier City studio where it will be all set up for your session. We will start with traditional photos which are your typically birthday photos.

From there we get those sweet babies changed into their Smash outfit and set up the food of choice.

Once they're no longer interested in the cake, we move them into their milk, fruit or bubble bath!

*What kind of outfits should I bring for my little one?

That is completely up to you! I suggest bringing one outfit for the traditional photos, one for the Smash portion of your session and typically your child will be naked for the Splash portion of the session.

*Is the food included?

Due to food allergies, the food during the Smash part of your session will not be included. The items you'd like in the splash part of your session are definitely included!

*What type of Smash Session can I have?

This is another one of those things that's entirely up to you! We can stick with a theme you're interested in. We can use the theme from their nursery/bedroom. We can plan the entire session around a favorite outfit or a Pintrest photo you love. We can even just plan out around a color scheme! Here's a few examples to get your creative juices flowing!

I've had quite a few requests for mermaid sessions too!

And this mom loved the simplicity of all white

*Isn't this normally called a Cake Smash session?

It absolutely is since cake is the traditional food used for a one year old session! In case you haven't gotten the point, I love creative fun ideas! I titled these sessions as "Smash Sessions" because I don't want to limit you to cake. Bring in his/her favorite food. Bring in something out of the box! I would love to share a few that we have done here in the studio.

*What type of Splash Session can I have?

The possibilities are almost endless for your splash session! First you'll need to choose between a milk bath or a bubble bath. We tend to stick with these two options because they cloud the water enough that it doesn't matter that your child is naked, and we can get some great photos. That doesn't mean other options wouldn't work, don't be afraid to think outside the box! You can add fruit, bring a toy from home or flowers. Here are a few examples...

*Can we do family photos during my child's Smash session?

Absolutely! For an additional $25 we can add on family photos to your session. These will be done first so any other children you have with you don't have to wait around and we can accumulate your little one to the studio and camera while being closet to you.

* How do one year old babies behave during a smash session?

Normally during a smash session you get one of two extremes, either we get a happy baby who dives into their cake or a sweet scared one year old who is in a strange place, isn't hungry and whats NOTHING to do with their food. If you have the sad, hungry scared baby, it's okay! We have ways around getting them involved in their session and each baby loves at least one part of their session. The Splash session is my personal favorite part of the session because we get smiles and/or some great action shots!

* Is this only available for one year old babies?

Absolutely not! I HIGHLY encourage you to book a smash session every year to celebrate your child's birthday! I even do adult Smash sessions! We would love to document all of these moments with your family! <3

****Disclaimer, the splash portion of the session will only be included with a one year old session.
